Airport Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) is a concept aimed at improving air traffic management through increased information exchange among the various partners in the aviation community. This concept is about improving the way Air Traffic Management, Airlines and airports work together at an operational level. It is a philosophy with the following objectives:
• improving efficiency and profitability
• achieving a more efficient and smooth operation at an airport
• enhancing the integration of the European Air Traffic Management System
• reducing delays and unnecessary pollution
• maintaining as high traffic throughput as possible during adverse conditions
• reducing the time needed for recovery after a period in adverse conditions
• to be able to predict the incoming traffic well before it actually happens
• to become fully aware what is going on at an airport at any given moment
• collecting precise data of traffic flow for statistical purposes and long term planning
• lowering the workload and stress of the staff and enhancing safety |
